Book Signing of "The 5Rs of Effective Classroom Management" and Practical Classroom Management Strategies Course

The Natchitoches Parish Library (NPL) will host Dr. Monte' L. Demars, known as the "Dean of Discipline" for his skillful classroom leadership, for a book signing of his latest release "The 5Rs of Effective Classroom Management" on Saturday, November 22, from 11 AM to 3 PM in the Children's Activity Area and main branch (450 2nd Street, Natchitoches). This free event is open to all community members and will be of particular interest to educators and school administrators seeking practical classroom management strategies. 

Dr. Demars' book offers teachers five essential strategies: rules, roles, routines, rationales, and rewards, designed to create structured learning environments that foster high-quality instruction. The approach emphasizes self-awareness, self-efficiacy, and self-discipline as foundational elements of effective teaching. The book explores how students benefit from clear systems and strategic plans implemented from the first day of class, providing educators with actionable techniques they can apply immediately in their classrooms.

A Natchitoches native, Dr. Demars discovered his calling for education while assisting with a computer class during his senior year of high school. His career path has included roles as a bus driver, substitute teacher, tutor, certified teacher, and school administrator before earning his doctorate from Louisiana State University. Today, he conducts professional development training for educators and motivational tasks reflecting his "Just BE" philosophy, the subject of his previous book, "Just BE: A Guide to Setting Yourself Free," which encourages individuals to discover their purpose and embrace authenticity.

This free event offers educators a valuable opportunity to engage directly with Dr. Demars about implementing these classroom management principles in their own schools. Attendees may drop in any time during the four-hour event. Signed copies will be available for purchase, and "The 5Rs of Effective Classroom Management" is also available for checkout at NPL.
