NSU Theatre and Dance presents - "The Learned Ladies"

Northwestern State University Theatre and Dance will present Moliere's comedy "The Learned Ladies" on Oct. 29 - Nov. 2 in Theatre West. Performance times are Oct. 29 - Nov. 1 at 7:30 pm and Nov 1-2 at 2 pm. 

The comedy is set in an 18th-century household ruled by scholarly obsession where poetry and philosophy become weapons of control and confusion. As suitors and scholars collide, Moliere exposes the dangers of self-importance with razor-sharp humor and timeless insight. This energetic production celebrates the joy of learning - while reminding us that wisdom without a heart is foolish. The play runs for approximately 80 minutes and is suitable for ages 10 and up. 

The cast is Jezek Macwell of Hallsville, Texas, as Chrysale, Ava Schorr of Thibodaux as Philaminte, Tyla Stewart of Bossier City as Armande, Abby Delanoix of Denham Springs as Henriette, Caleb Barton of Marksville as Ariste, Dani Warino of Westwego as Belise, Kwincy Pierre of Lafayette as Clitandre, William Kielwasser of West Monroe as Trissotin, Liz Bonnette of Lake Charles as Martine and KeShaun Bridgewater of Gonzales as Lepine, Vadius and the notary. 

Scott Burrell is the director, Jasmine Parr is the costume designer. Andrew Killion is the light designer and Robert Richoux is the technical director. Raleigh Lusignan of Metairie is the set designer. Elizabeth Campbell of Iowa is the sound designer and Milton Garcia of Dallas is the stage manager.
